One of the biggest questions surrounding any conversion of a PC-based genre to consoles is how the controls were handled. ![]() Speaking of which, our original review of the PC version is also still up, giving you a better idea of what we like about the game rather than focusing on console-specific features (like we do in this review). Since its richly detailed game world, fully narrated story and seemingly endless story paths are obviously also present, this means you’re jumping into the game at the best possible moment if you get the Definitive Edition – either on console or PC, which is also getting the new version on Steam. There is also a “story mode” now, which is basically the “super easy” mode where you don’t have to worry about combat challenges and can just enjoy the (excellent) story the game offers. That may sound like just a few bug fixes and optimizations here and there, but Larian’s actually added extra characters, story content and dialogue options as well. Original Sin 2, however, is the superior and more polished of the two.Īs was the case with the original’s enhanced edition, console gamers are getting all of the tweaks and improvements that were added to the PC version post-release. It’s, to this date, still one of the finest examples of an RPG on consoles – and fans of the genre have had a good week since Martyr also recently launched on console. That Larian would be bringing Original Sin 2 to consoles wasn’t exactly a surprise after the previous game undertook the same route a few years ago, but it was a conversion that was looked forward to after Larian had done such a good job with Original Sin’s “enhanced edition”. Huge shame.Larian Studios’ genre benchmark RPG title Divinity Original Sin 2 has made the journey from PC to consoles, with a release for both PS4 and Xbox One in the form of a Definitive Edition. But I do imagine that the technical problems are getting in the way of others being able to enjoy it similarly on console. Tied for my GOTY of last year with Divinity Original Sin. I see so many people that complain about TEW due to its framerate and black bars and its disappointing because I *loved* the game. And of course there's other little console commands you can do like enabling free cam or cheats(if you enjoy that sort of thing). I kept a small amount of black bars to keep the widescreen look, but they're small enough that they don't feel like I'm actively being restricted. It was only 60fps that was hard to hit, but you can do that now pretty well.Īnd of course being able to get rid of the black bars is HUGE if you ask me. But it was always able to do a consistent 30fps on PC. It was when it first came out, but PC version is fine and actually reasonably good at this point. You can almost always get a game cheaper on PC, man. ![]() Even right now, you can get it for £17 on GMG(or £14 with a 20% off voucher). Its regularly been on sale for less than that on PC. I just can't understand how the game could be running this bad, when I've seen so many claim that they think it runs fine, because this is no where near fine. ![]() I just hope something isn't wrong with my PS4, every other game I own seems to be running fine. Is this normal? I took two videos to show just how bad the problem is, it's during Chapter 3, but Chapter 2 was just as bad, if not worse in some areas. Now I'm worried that maybe something is wrong with my PS4, or is the game like this for everyone? It feels like the FPS is dropping into the mid teens, and it's getting impossible for me to actually play the game like this. I read up on the Digital Foundry article and saw other comments saying the framerate was decent and not horrible, but what I've been playing right now is really really bad. After playing Resident Evil Remake HD alot recently, I just wanted to try out the new Mikami game, and even though I own a gaming PC, I ended up purchasing the PS4 version of Evil Within due to the 30$ Bethesda sale going on currently.
